Information

Hermann Schwelling Maschinenbau GmbH + Co. KG was founded in 1971 in Salem and started a year later with the sale of the first baling press for cardboard.

Like many other successful companies in the world, the development of the company began humbly in a small workshop. Today the office technology product range includes cutting machines, document shredders, shredder-baler combinations and cardboard perforators.

In the corporate division environmental technology, the portfolio includes vertical, horizontal and channel baling presses up to a pressing power of 150 tons as well as PET solutions. The portfolio also includes configuration and implementation of system solutions for shredding and pressing various valuable products such as paper, foil, cardboard, composite materials, PET, foams, car tyres, hard plastics, etc.

HSM has three manufacturing plants in Germany (Salem, Frickingen, Reichenbach) and a joint venture in China for production of document shredders in the entry-level price segment. There are subsidiaries in the USA, England, France and Poland. In a worldwide distribution network, HSM employees collaborate with sales and service points in more than 100 countries.

For many years HSM has met this challenge, developing tailored solutions for recycling of PET based on expertise from the environmental sector. In our extensive portfolio, you are sure to find the right machine to optimise your recycling process and improve environmental protection over the long term.

Projects

Energy efficient waste disposal solution

Waste disposal

It's 6.20 meters high, weighs 40 tonnes and has a pressing power of 1.200 kilonewton (kN): the fully automated VK 1208 R channel baling press from HSM in Frickingen for pressing paper, cardboard and cardboard boxes has been in use by the disposal company SITA in Hochheim for around three months. There are fewer bales thanks to the enormous pressing pressure and the large bale format. This allows SITA to utilise the warehouse in the best way possible, speed up logistics processes and reduce energy consumption at the same time.

Secure data media shredding as an opportunity for disposal companies

Data media shredding

When new computers are needed, companies often need to delete sensitive data reliably from many thousands of old computers - a time-consuming job. Thanks to the HDS 230 hard drive shredder from HSM, Uriel Papierrohstoffe GmbH in Diez (Limburg) can provide ther customers with fast and extremly secure data deletion by mechanically shredding hard drives into many particles.
